NASFT: SōL Shines in Taste, Innovation

Sunrich Naturals®’ sunflower beverage a favorite of August product evaluation team.

Hope, MN – (Sept. 13, 2011) – Sunrich Naturals®’ SōL earned high marks and enthusiastic kudos for quality, innovation, ingredient profile and pricing from an evaluation panel consisting of retailers, distributors, and brokers participating in the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade (NASFT)’s August 2011 Product Evaluation.

The evaluators, who sampled the Original version of the product, praised SōL for great flavor, pioneering concept, and pricing. They also noted that SōL’s food allergy/food sensitivity friendliness gives it hot selling potential given consumers’ increasing preferences for foods that are free from dairy, gluten, nuts, and other common allergens.

SōL was tested among nine other new non-perishable products in the evaluation session, and achieved higher than average scores among all entries sampled in four out of five criteria. All evaluators and their scores were anonymous.

SōL Refreshing Sunflower Beverage is a delicious new addition to the functional nondairy beverage category that’s gaining increasing consumer interest and adoption. Made from wholesome sunflower seeds grown on American family farms, SōL is naturally free of the eight most common food allergens, which include soy, dairy, wheat, and tree nuts. SōL also provides an excellent source of Vitamin E, Folic Acid, Calcium, Vitamin D, and Phosphorus. Each 8 oz. serving provides 50% of the recommended daily allowance for Vitamin E, 30% for Calcium, 25% for Vitamin D, and 20% for Folic Acid.

Available in shelf stable, aseptic 32 ounce Tetra Pak containers, SōL comes in three delicious flavors: Vanilla, Original, and Unsweetened. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price is $2.69 for 32 ounces.
